crafitism é um projeto do designer português albio nascimento que trabalha em berlim e está interessado em pesquisar o significado da palavra home entre culturas diversas. também realiza a curadoria da exposição DESIGNFORFUTURE, com foco em design sustentável, desde o ano de 2005.

"I’m exploring product innovation in traditional crafts.
Always focusing on local culture, and by using design methods and creative processes, I’m searching for strategies to improve the viability of the traditional craftsman work and way of life.
In the process I became interested in more conceptual approaches and started to work with artisans in experimental craft projects.
I’m also always on the look out for folk homemade objects and skilled artisans.
This investigation is part of a product design master’s degree program which I’m taking at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences. This blog documents my work in progress and shares thoughts and relevant information on the topic.
